The Report will analyze the mutually supportive roles countries of the "emerging South" an play in this promising area of economic growth, including through more effective technology transfer.
The report has a special focus on the need for an increased use of South-South cooperation to promote technology-led growth in developing countries. Fast-growing trade and investment among these countries offers an opportunity to master market-useful technologies and to bolster their abilities to innovate new products and services.
The report calls for the establishment of an "international framework on South-South technology and innovation" to harness the potential of South-South collaboration for greater technological growth in the developing world. It is meant to avoid the risk of booming technology and innovation sharing amongst the world's emerging countries skipping a number of poor nations.
