Somboon is a documentary film that tells a heartfelt love story of a suburban Grandpa Somboon towards his wife of more 45 years Grandma Miad during that last year of Grandma Miad's life.
Their mutual love lasted for almost half a century even though their marriage was pre-arranged by their parents.
The film focuses on the last years of Grandma Miad's life as she was disabled by acute kidney failure, and Grandpa Somboon stayed by her side and taking care of her until her last day.
Despite their pre-arranged marriage, their life never had strife, and they fulfilled all of their duties as husband and wife, parents to their offspring and grandparents to their grandchildren.
The film was selected as the opening film for the 12th World Film Festival of Bangkok.
It was an official selection for the 2014 World Film Festival of Bangkok.
It was an official selection of the 2014 Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival.
It was an official selection for the 27th Suphannahong National Film Awards.
The film is in Thai with English subtitles.
