The Day Israel Attacked America

The Palestinian "Nakba" ("catastrophe" in Arabic) refers to the mass expulsion of Palestinian Arabs from British Mandate Palestine during Israel's creation (1947-49).

The fact that, after almost seventy years, Palestinians are still without their homeland is very much because the world's only super power, the U.S., props up and subsidises Israel financially, diplomatically and politically.

Apart from the distinguished speakers, the highlight will be on the screening of the documentary, previously broadcast on Al Jazeera, The Day Israel Attacked America.

This major state-sanctioned cover-up by America of Israel's deliberate attack on the American spy ship, the USS Liberty, on 8th June 1967, killing 34 American servicemen and injuring over 170 others, is the most sensitive matter in American maritime history. The US Administration colluded with Israel to cover-up its conscious and malicious attack on an American warship, wantonly killing and injuring all those servicemen.

What other state in the world would be allowed to get away with that, especially when the victim is a superpower and the otherwise very self-assertive US?

Speakers:

H.E. Ambassador Dato' Nazirah binti Hussain, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand

Professor Dr. Kraisak Choonhavan. Human rights activist, academic and former Senator, M.P. and former Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party. He is also Honorary President of PSC Thailand.
